Roscommon County Playday – Saturday 2nd July in Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle, Co. Roscommon from 12pm-4pm.
Roscommon County Childcare Committee CLG are delighted in association with Roscommon County Council and with support of local agencies to hold our annual County Playday in line with National Playday in the lovely venue of Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle, Co. Roscommon on Saturday 2nd July 2022 from 12pm-4pm. There will be fun and games for children to support the theme of the day ‘All Play Together’. There will be Arts & Crafts, Music Generation workshops, Outdoor Play workshops for parents, FAI Football & Roscommon Sports Partnership workshops, Lego block building for babies, storytelling, Sticky kids, face painting and mindfulness for teenagers, all of these workshops/activities are free once registration is completed at our registration tent. Places for each event are limited and registration is advised. Lough Key Adventure kingdom will not be available on the day. All children must be supervised by parents/guardian.
Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman announced that €93,000 has been approved to support National Play Day 2022. The aim of National Play Day is to promote play opportunities for children and young people all across the country, with this year’s theme being ‘All Play Together’. Welcoming the announcement, Minister O’ Gorman said:
“Play is vital to supporting children’s development, learning and wellbeing. It encourages a sense of adventure and discovery, helping young minds to better understand the world around them through fun and creative ways. This National Play Day is an opportunity for Local Authorities to invite children, and their families, to come together in their communities and take part in a range of fun and exciting activities that everyone can enjoy.”
The events will be held from 12-4pm with registration necessary as places at workshop sessions will be limited. Lough Key adventure Kingdom will not be available on the day. Children must be supervised by parent/adult.
Roscommon County Childcare Committee CLG Co-ordinator/Manager, Irene Cafferky said ‘It is great to be able to once again co-ordinate and deliver Roscommon County Playday face to face in such a lovely venue as Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle. The theme of the day will promote the importance of play and recreation for children which supports child development. The activities planned will provide opportunities for children to explore play and have fun. We look forward to seeing families & children enjoying the day.’
