Roscommon CCC Bulletin Week ending 8th May 2020
This is the bulletin for the week ending 8th May 2020.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
Temporary Childcare Scheme for Essential Health Workers
Services have received information from the DCYA regarding the provision of childcare supports for frontline healthcare workers. All of the details and documents relating to this scheme are on PIP. You can also access the information on this link: https://www.roscommonchildcare.ie/pip-notice-temporary-childcare-scheme-for-essential-health-workers/
This is a voluntary scheme – no provider is obliged to take part, no childcare practitioner is obliged to take part.
Full day care services are being targeted initially, however all childcare services are welcome to submit an application form.
The scheme involves allocating a childcare worker to an essential healthcare workers home to provide childcare. The childcare worker remains the employee of the service, and the service is funded to pay the childcare worker as well as a built-in overhead payment. Roscommon CC would recommend that you read the documentation carefully. We are available to talk the scheme through with you.
COVID-19 Notice: AIM Update
For those children attending your service who have AIM level 7 supports and are eligible for another year beginning in September and nothing has changed, you can submit an extension request. The request is submitted on PIP, you will find it on the AIM tab.
If the child is moving to another preschool for the second ECCE year or you know of a child due to start in September, a new application will have to be made. Information on the dates of new AIM applications will be available shortly.
If a child has level 5 equipment and is due to go to school in September, the transfer documents will be issued in good time.
Temporary Wage Subsidy Childcare Scheme Phase 2
The DCYA scheme is now up and running and payments started last week. Phase 1 was signing up to the subsidy terms and conditions, Phase 2 is a more complete application process. This phase is now live from today Monday 11 May on the Early Years (NCS) hive. Some of you may have received invites to the hive. Pobal have identified those services who are not currently set up on the Hive and have sent out invitations to the Primary Authorised User (PAU). The information submitted on the application form will be used to calculate the total payments due to the service under the TWSCS. The total will be reconciled against payments that have already been made, and if any further payments are necessary, they will be made on 22 May and 5 June.
A step-by-step guide to completing the application form will be put up on PIP. Please click here for the most up to date guide to calculating your top up payments which can also be found on PIP and will help you to anticipate how much you should be receiving.
