Closure due to the referendum
*Attention Services located on school premises being used as a polling station on Friday, May 24th and closing on that day*
The DCYA has confirmed that the closure of a Service due to the referendum cannot be regarded as a force majeure closure. Force Majeure, covered under Clause 12 of the Grant Agreement for DCYA programmespertains to unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather, flood, lightning, fire, power and water supplies etc. Referendum/national elections dates are announced in advance and therefore closures due to such events cannot be considered unforeseen.
However, while the closure of a Service due to the referendum cannot be regarded as a force majeure closure, Service Providers are not required to amend their calendars or make up the day. This will not affect your payments.
