Better Start AIM Hanen Teacher Talk training programmes
A new programme of specialised training for Early Years Practitioners will be rolled out as part of the AIM programme. The first round of training is Hanen Teacher Talk, which is a certified 3 day course which will be delivered by Better Start Early Years Specialists.Better Start Access and Inclusion service are starting the roll out of Hanen Teacher Talk training in March and April, partnering with Teacher Education Centres around the country. Initial invitations for first round have been sent to settings with children receiving AIM support in Dublin (Drumcondra and Blackrock venues); Cavan, Monaghan and Kildare. Course dates (Saturdays) 10th March, 21st April and 12th May. Further courses in Cork, Kilkenny, Galway, Leitrim, Waterford will be offered starting in April, with other areas coming on stream over the coming months, into the Autumn. Invites are sent directly to relevant services via Eventbrite and services are offered two places on each course. We have opted for one Saturday per month, for the first set of trainings, to reduce impact on services needing cover etc. We will review this after the 2nd roll out, in June. The dates coincide with some LINC training dates, as this will encourage take up and build capacity among other staff.
